Chartering a yacht in Rio de Janeiro means spending a day on Guanabara Bay and the Atlantic coastline, with Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and the city’s beaches seen from the water. Most charters here are private, skippered and booked by the hour.
We work with motor yachts of different sizes in Rio, from compact flybridge boats for small groups to larger yachts with cabins, sound systems and space for a full day out. Prices start at R$3,500 per charter (in Brazilian reais), and payment terms are confirmed with each quote.
Browse the yachts below and send us a message with your date, group size and preferred route — we’ll come back with availability and a quote.
A yacht charter in Rio is usually a private day trip of four to eight hours, with a skipper included in the price. You choose the departure time and the general direction of the day; the skipper adjusts the route to the sea and wind conditions on the day.
Boats vary a lot, so it’s worth telling us how many people are coming and what matters most to you — sunbathing space, shade, a swim ladder, a sound system, a toilet on board or a cabin for changing. Fuel, catering and extra hours should be confirmed with our team for each boat.
Possible boarding points include Marina da Glória, the marinas around Botafogo and Urca, and, for boats based on the west side of the city, Barra da Tijuca. Some yachts listed for Rio also operate from Niterói, on the opposite side of Guanabara Bay. The exact pier depends on the boat, and we confirm it before the charter.
Itineraries often follow one of two directions. Inside Guanabara Bay, charters commonly pass Sugarloaf Mountain and Urca, with stops near Praia Vermelha or on the Niterói side around Jurujuba and Itaipu. Heading out along the coast, many charters run past Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon toward the Cagarras Islands, a small archipelago a few kilometres off Ipanema and a protected marine area often used as a swimming and snorkelling stop.
Longer days can reach the Tijucas Islands off Barra da Tijuca. Overnight and multi-day charters are possible on some yachts, on request.
Navegue Temporada is a Brazilian boat rental platform, and we handle the whole booking directly with you over WhatsApp or email. Tell us the date, the number of guests and roughly what you’d like the day to look like, and we’ll suggest the boats that fit.
