Boat Rental in Bertioga

Home / Boat Rental in Brazil / Boat Rental in Bertioga

Bertioga sits on the São Paulo coast at the point where the channel separating it from Santo Amaro island opens to the sea. It makes for an easy day out: sheltered water inside the channel, long open beaches to the north, and the islands off the São Paulo coast within a short run.

We list motorboats, sailboats and larger boats here, with private charters and a skipper included on most of them. Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL), and payment terms are confirmed with each quote.

How the day works

The usual format is a private charter of four to eight hours with a skipper included and the boat reserved for your group alone. You choose the departure time, and the skipper shapes the route around the sea and wind that day.

Most moorings are on the Bertioga channel, a sheltered arm of water between the mainland and Santo Amaro island. You cruise a calm stretch before reaching open sea, passing mangroves and the Forte São João — one of the oldest fortifications in Brazil — visible from the water.

Beaches and routes

North of town the coast opens into long beaches: Riviera de São Lourenço, Guaratuba and Boracéia, progressively emptier the further you go. Southward, the channel comes out opposite the Guarujá beaches, and from there charters reach Ilha das Palmas and the small islands around it, regular anchorages for swimming and snorkelling.

Longer charters can continue toward São Sebastião and Ilhabela on the northern coast, or south toward Santos. The rivers and mangroves inside the channel are the alternative when the sea isn’t cooperating — calmer, green and a completely different landscape.

When to go

High season runs from December to March, when São Paulo empties onto this coast and the best dates go first. April, May and October usually combine good weather, quiet beaches and better availability. Charters depend on sea conditions, and our team gets in touch to reschedule if the forecast turns.

What’s included

A skipper is included on most boats. Fuel, food, drinks and extra hours vary by boat and are confirmed with our team in each quote. Some boats offer overnight charters, with multi-day itineraries along the coast on request.
