Bombinhas is a small peninsula on the coast of Santa Catarina with the clearest water in southern Brazil — clear enough that the town built its reputation on snorkelling and diving. Its beaches are separated by rocky headlands, so several of the best ones are quicker to reach by sea than by road.

The peninsula’s geography does the work: dozens of small beaches tucked between headlands, most of them facing sheltered water, and visibility underwater that’s unusual for this part of the coast. A boat turns a day of driving and parking into a sequence of anchorages, with snorkelling stops in between.
Charters run four to eight hours as a rule, with the route decided on the day around sea and wind conditions. The northern and western sides of the peninsula are the calmer ones and carry most of the itineraries.
Praia da Sepultura and Praia da Tainha are among the most photographed on the peninsula, both small and framed by rock. Praia do Ribeiro, Praia da Lagoinha and the Quatro Ilhas stretch are regular calls, and Praia de Bombas and Praia de Bombinhas anchor the more built-up side of town.
Just north, across the bay, sits Ilha de Porto Belo, with clear water and a well-known circuit around it. Further offshore lies the Arvoredo archipelago, the marine biological reserve that made the region’s diving reputation — access there is restricted and controlled by authorised operators, so it’s worth asking our team what’s possible on your date rather than assuming a landing.
Possible boarding points include the piers around Bombinhas itself and the marinas at Porto Belo, a short drive around the bay. The exact departure point depends on the boat and is confirmed before your charter.
High season runs from December to March, when the town’s population multiplies and the beaches fill. Water clarity is generally at its best in the warmer months, though it swings with wind and swell from week to week. April, May and October usually mean good weather, empty anchorages and much better availability.
Bring a mask if you have one. Snorkelling gear is available on some boats and not on others, and it’s one of the things worth confirming when you book.
