Jet ski rental is normally charged by period — half an hour, an hour or more — from a fixed point on the beach or at a marina, within an area set by the operator. It’s a different product from a boat charter, which is sold as a several-hour trip with a route between islands.
Rates, hours and rules are set by each operator and change through the year. That’s why we work on request: we check with the operator in the area and come back to you with what’s available for your date.
In Brazil, operating a personal watercraft requires a boating licence issued by the Navy. For that reason, many operators run the activity with an instructor on board or inside a supervised area, so the guest doesn’t need to be licensed — but this varies between operators and needs to be confirmed beforehand.
There are also rules on distance from swimming areas and limits on where you can ride, which the operator explains at check-in. Minimum age, life jacket use and a security deposit are usually part of the terms and are confirmed when booking.
Worth understanding the difference before choosing. A jet ski is a short, high-adrenaline activity for one or two people at a time, confined to an area near the launch point — it isn’t the way to see the bay.
What makes Angra a boating destination is its hundreds of islands: Lagoa Azul, Saco do Céu, Ilha da Gipóia, the sheltered anchorages where a boat stops so everyone can swim. That’s boat territory — the whole group together, food and drinks on board, a full day of route. Plenty of guests do both: the boat for the day out, the jet ski for an hour on the side.
