Boat Rental in Florianópolis

Home / Boat Rental in Brazil / Boat Rental in Florianópolis

Florianópolis is an island with more than forty beaches, and the two sides of it are almost different places. The north and the sheltered bays face the mainland with calm, warm water; the east and south face the open Atlantic, wilder and emptier. A boat is the only way to see both in one day.

We list motorboats, sailboats and larger boats here, with private charters and a skipper included on most of them. Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL), and payment terms are confirmed with each quote.

How the day works

The usual format is a private charter of four to eight hours with a skipper included and the boat reserved for your group alone. You choose the departure time, and the skipper shapes the route around the sea and wind that day — which matters here, because conditions differ sharply between the island’s two coasts.

Most charters run on the north and bay side, where the water is calmest and the beaches sit close together. Possible boarding points include the marinas around Jurerê and Canasvieiras, and the piers near the two bridges in the city centre.

Beaches and stops

On the north side, Jurerê Internacional, Praia do Forte and Canasvieiras are the busiest, while Praia Brava and Lagoinha do Leste sit at the quieter end of the scale. Just offshore, Ilha do Francês and Ilha do Arvoredo draw boats for clear water and snorkelling — Arvoredo is a marine biological reserve with restricted access controlled by authorised operators, so it’s worth asking our team what’s possible on your date.

The bays either side of the island — Baía Norte and Baía Sul — offer flat water and a different view: the city, the Hercílio Luz bridge and the mainland shoreline. Longer charters can head south toward Ilha do Campeche, known for its clear water and archaeological site, with visitor numbers capped daily.

Sailing here

Florianópolis has a strong sailing culture and reliable wind, especially through the bays. Sailboat charters here get real breeze most days, and the sheltered water keeps things comfortable even when it’s blowing. It’s a good place to sail without committing to open ocean.

When to go

High season runs from December to March, when the island fills with visitors from across Brazil and Argentina, and the best dates go first. April, May and October usually combine good weather, empty anchorages and much better availability. Winter here is genuinely cool by Brazilian standards — bring layers if you’re charting outside summer.

Charters depend on sea conditions. If the forecast turns, our team gets in touch to reschedule.

What’s included

A skipper is included on most boats. Fuel, food, drinks and extra hours vary by boat and are confirmed with our team in each quote. Some boats offer overnight charters, with multi-day itineraries along the coast on request.

Booking your charter

Navegue Temporada is a Brazilian boat rental platform, and we arrange everything directly with you over WhatsApp or email. Tell us the date, how many guests are coming and whether you want the calm bays or the open coast, and we’ll suggest the boats that fit.

There’s more along the same coast: boat rental in Porto Belo, boat rental in Bombinhas, boat rental in Balneário Camboriú and boat rental in Itajaí. The whole region is on boat rental in Santa Catarina, and the full national fleet on boat rental in Brazil. Chartering in Europe? Our sister company Portugal Boat covers Lisbon and the Algarve.
